He started stripping in front of me: Hum Saath Saath Hain crew member accuses Alok Nath of sexual misconduct
Alok Nath Me Too: While Alok Nath's lawyer said that he is a mental trauma after being accused of sexual misconduct, another woman who worked with him in Hum Saath Saath Hain has come out against him.
The #MeeToo movement in Bollywood is exposing the dark and never seen before side of many celebrities. It all started with Tanushree Dutta who accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleasss. The actress not just made a bold and courageous move for herself, but also gave an opportunity to other women to step up and bring light to all the unwanted sexual encounters they faced. A recent revelation that shocked the entire film fraternity and the netizens were Vinta Nanda’s rape accusation on Alok Nath.
While Alok Nath’s lawyer said that he is in a mental trauma after being accused of sexual misconduct, another woman who worked with him during the shooting of 90s cult film Hum Saath Saath Hain has come out and accused Alok Nath of mistreating her. She narrated the horrific incident that happened with her and also stated why she kept her mouth shut.
In an interview with Mid-Day, she was quoted as saying “We were shooting for a night scene and I had taken a change of costumes to him. Once I handed him the clothes, he started stripping in front of me. I was taken aback and tried to make my way out of the room as soon as possible. When I tried to run out, he grabbed my hand and manhandled me. I remember yanking my hand out of his grip and rushing out of the room.” She added that she couldn’t report the whole incident to Sooraj Barjatya, the producer-director of the film. “I was shell-shocked; I couldn’t muster the courage to speak up against him. He was extremely close to the Barjatyas, and Sooraj sir would have taken it badly,” added the survivor.
Calling Vinta Nanda as a brave and courageous woman, she added that “I am glad CINTAA is taking action against him. I salute Vinta’s courage; I wish I could show the same courage, but life has come way past it and I can’t put my family through this”
It’s horrific to see how so many women have been mistreated by the celebrities.
